The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results that were earlier withheld for review. The results belong to candidates whose cases had been under further checks.

JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the update on X on Thursday. He stated that the newly released results came after the board reviewed cases linked to suspected examination malpractice.

Why JAMB Withheld Some UTME Results

JAMB held back some 2026 UTME results after reports and monitoring records raised questions about conduct at some centres. The board reviewed those flagged cases before deciding which results to release.

According to Fabian Benjamin, some results were cancelled where evidence of malpractice was found. Others were released where JAMB found no prima facie case against the affected candidates.

Some Results Still Remain Withheld

JAMB has not released every flagged result. Results from centres where its live monitoring team noticed suspicious activities, or where adverse reports came in, remain withheld while checks continue.

The board said such results may be cancelled if enough evidence links the candidates or centres to wrongdoing. That means some affected candidates may still have to wait for the outcome of the review.

How Candidates Can Check Their UTME Result Status

Candidates who have not accessed their results can check their status by SMS. They should send UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019.

The message must be sent from the same phone number used during UTME registration. Using another number may not return the needed result status.

2026 UTME Exam Dates

The 2026 UTME was held from 16 April to 25 April. The exam took place across accredited computer-based test centres nationwide.

JAMB has now released 279 of the previously withheld results, while some other cases still await final review. Candidates affected by the hold should follow the stated SMS process and watch for further official updates.
