The management of Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU), has announced that candidates seeking admission for the 2025/2026 academic session will no longer write the traditional post-UTME examination. Instead, applicants will be screened online using their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) scores alongside their OβLevel results.
The university explained that the new measure was introduced to make the admission process more transparent and stress-free for candidates. DELSU also warned the public against unscrupulous individuals parading themselves as staff of the institution and demanding money from unsuspecting candidates in exchange for admission slots.
βThe university wishes to reiterate that admission into Delta State University is free and strictly by merit. No applicant should pay any individual or group of persons with the promise of securing admission,β the statement from the institution read in part.
Authorities at the university further advised candidates and their parents to rely only on official university communication channels for information regarding the admission process.
This development places DELSU among several Nigerian universities that are shifting from written post-UTME examinations to online screenings, aimed at curbing fraud and reducing the financial burden on applicants.
