2027: Votes Won't Come From Social Media, Seyi Tinubu Tells APC Supporters

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has urged supporters of the President's re-election bid to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, stressing that electoral victory cannot be achieved through social media campaigns alone.

Speaking at a gathering of supporters in Abuja on Monday, Seyi Tinubu called on members of the movement to become more proactive by taking the campaign directly to communities across the country.
He encouraged supporters to move beyond online engagement and focus on connecting with Nigerians at the grassroots through effective communication, community engagement and responsible leadership.
According to him, supporters should serve as "communicators, educators, mobilisers and ambassadors of hope" by engaging citizens with facts, empathy and a clear understanding of the administration's policies and programmes.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Francis Shoga underscored the importance of grassroots political structures, saying the movement's success would depend on sustained engagement with voters rather than slogans or online campaigns.

"We must inform, engage, and empower Nigerians with clarity, facts and conviction," Shoga said.
He added that the group's objective is to mobilise 10 million votes in support of President Tinubu's re-election.

"Our mission is clear. Our target is 10 million votes. Our strength lies in our people. And our time is now. These 10 million votes will not be secured through slogans or social media; they will come from genuine individuals, established structures, meaningful engagement and diligent work at the grassroots level," he stated.

Shoga urged supporters to recruit more members into the movement and actively participate in mobilisation efforts across their respective communities. "If you believe in this movement, bring someone into it. Get involved. Get organised. Get to work," he said.

He further challenged members to seize the opportunity to contribute to the campaign, saying future generations would judge them by the role they played.

"History will one day inquire what we did when we had the opportunity to serve. Let our response be straightforward: we stood up, we organised, we worked, we mobilised, and we delivered," he added.
The remarks come as political parties and support groups gradually begin mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general election, with increasing emphasis on strengthening grassroots structures across the country.
