The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has donated a brand-new Toyota Camry to Mrs. Rachael Folake Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area, in recognition of her courage and resilience after surviving a 56-day kidnapping ordeal.

Mrs. Alamu was among the teachers abducted alongside dozens of pupils during the attack on Community High School, Esiele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Oriire Local Government Area in May.

The victims were held captive for nearly two months before regaining their freedom following sustained efforts by security agencies.

During the period of captivity, Mrs. Alamu was reportedly forced by the kidnappers to appear in several video recordings that were used to communicate with the outside world and press their demands.

Presenting the vehicle, Senator Alli praised the school principal for her remarkable courage, composure and selflessness throughout the traumatic experience, particularly her commitment to the welfare and safety of the abducted pupils despite the difficult conditions.

He described the donation as a token of appreciation for her bravery and a demonstration of solidarity with victims of insecurity across the country.

According to the senator, Mrs. Alamu's conduct during the ordeal exemplified dedication, resilience and leadership under extraordinary circumstances.

He expressed hope that the gesture would contribute to her recovery from the traumatic experience and provide encouragement as she resumes her professional responsibilities.

Alli also stressed the need for greater support for teachers and other public servants who continue to carry out their duties despite growing security challenges in many parts of the country.

He noted that educators who serve in difficult and sometimes dangerous environments deserve recognition, protection and encouragement for their commitment to shaping the future of society.

The donation comes days after Mrs. Alamu and other abducted pupils and teachers regained their freedom, bringing an end to the 56-day ordeal that drew national attention and renewed concerns over security in schools across the country.
