Delta lawmaker commends economic reforms, State Police initiative, NELFUND
A member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Emeka Osamuta, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as bold economic and institutional reforms capable of transforming lives and accelerating development across Nigeria.
Osamuta, in a statement expressing appreciation to the President, particularly praised the Federal Government’s economic reforms, saying they are creating opportunities for critical infrastructure to reach rural and riverine communities across Delta State.
The lawmaker said the development of such communities remains important to achieving inclusive growth, noting that improved infrastructure would help connect underserved populations to greater economic opportunities.
Osamuta also commended the President’s proposed security reforms, particularly the introduction of State Police, which he said holds significant promise for improving security at the grassroots.
According to him, State Police, when fully implemented, would enable state governments to respond more effectively to security challenges and better protect residents within their jurisdictions.
“The introduction of State Police holds great promise, as it will enable states to better protect their residents when fully implemented,” Osamuta said.
The lawmaker further expressed appreciation for the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) initiative, saying it has restored hope to numerous students in higher institutions across the country.
He noted that the programme is helping students meet tuition obligations while also providing financial support for their upkeep, thereby reducing some of the financial pressures associated with higher education.
Osamuta described the various policies as impactful measures that deserve continued support and commitment, stressing that their benefits would become more meaningful as implementation progresses.
“Words alone cannot fully express my appreciation for these impactful policies and reforms. We will continue to show our gratitude through our support and commitment,” he stated.
The Delta lawmaker also prayed for President Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, good health and protection as he leads the country.
“May God continue to bless you, grant you wisdom, good health, and keep you safe as you lead our great nation.
“God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Osamuta’s statement comes amid ongoing national conversations over the impact of the Tinubu administration’s economic, security and education reforms, with supporters pointing to emerging opportunities while citizens continue to demand tangible improvements in living standards.
For Delta State, the lawmaker’s emphasis on rural and riverine infrastructure highlights the importance of ensuring that communities outside major urban centres also benefit from government development programmes.
