NSE Asaba Branch Holds Public Lecture, Inducts New Members June 25

Asaba – The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Asaba Branch, has announced plans to host a Public Lecture and Induction Ceremony for new members as part of its commitment to advancing engineering knowledge and professional development.

The event, scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026, will take place at Engr. D. A. Umukoro Hall, Ministry of Works, Off Summit Road, by Inter Boa, Asaba, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The theme of the lecture is “Building a Resilient Society: Engineering Secure Technology for Public Safety,” a topic aimed at addressing the growing need for innovative engineering solutions that enhance security, safety, and societal resilience in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, FAEng, MFR, is expected to grace the occasion, while the event will be hosted by Engr. Ikechukwu Collins Osunde, FNSE, FNIEEE, Chairman of NSE Asaba Branch.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Engr. Prof. Hilary Ijeoma Owamah, FNSE, FNICE, FNIEE, Vice-Chairman of NSE Asaba Branch and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Delta State University, Abraka. The distinguished scholar and engineering professional is expected to provide valuable insights into the role of engineering and secure technologies in safeguarding lives, infrastructure, and public institutions.

According to the organisers, the programme will also feature the induction of newly admitted members into the Nigerian Society of Engineers, marking an important milestone in their professional journey.
