Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness in the posting of newly recruited teachers across the state.
Speaking on the matter, Governor Otti stressed that teachers must be deployed where they can function effectively and contribute meaningfully to the education system. He directed that any teacher who finds their current posting unsuitable should be promptly reassigned without obstruction.
“Teachers should be posted where they can function effectively. If any newly recruited teacher finds their posting unsuitable, they should be reposted — no one should obstruct that process,” the governor declared.
He further emphasized that teachers assigned to areas outside their local government of application should be reposted accordingly to ensure fairness. Warning against sabotage, Governor Otti cautioned that any official found frustrating or disrespecting this directive would be held accountable.
“This recruitment was based on merit and must be handled with fairness and respect,” he added, assuring that his administration will continue to uphold transparency and integrity in public service.
The directive has been welcomed by education stakeholders, who believe it will not only motivate the new teachers but also strengthen the government’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the education sector in Abia State.
