The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded its highest-ever single-day revenue collection, generating ₦28.1 billion within 24 hours on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

According to the Command, a total of ₦28,102,000,914.61 was collected, surpassing its previous daily record of ₦20.1 billion achieved in September 2025.

The latest milestone comes weeks after the Command reported a record ₦323 billion monthly revenue collection in July 2026, which Customs attributed to improved compliance, digitalisation, intelligence-driven operations and enhanced trade facilitation.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, said the achievement goes beyond revenue figures, noting that Customs collections contribute to government funding for infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.

Oshoba commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the Service’s management for supporting reforms and modernisation efforts.

He also appreciated compliant importers, exporters, licensed customs agents and other stakeholders for their cooperation, while urging businesses to continue supporting legitimate trade.

The Customs Area Controller directed officers and men of the Command to sustain the momentum without compromising professionalism, transparency and efficient trade facilitation.

He stressed that revenue generation must go hand in hand with prompt resolution of legitimate disputes and procedures that do not unnecessarily hinder lawful businesses.
