Oborevwori Swears In Six New Judges in Delta

Asaba, Delta State — Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has sworn in six newly appointed Judges into the Delta State judiciary, comprising four Judges of the High Court of Delta State and two Judges of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal.

The swearing-in ceremony, held in Asaba, followed due process in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). The appointments were made pursuant to Section 271(2) for the High Court Judges and Section 281(2) for the Customary Court of Appeal Judges.

Those sworn in as Judges of the High Court of Delta State are Otite, Jonathan Akporuaro, Esq.; Sam-Oligida Jereoma, Esq.; Ukuli, Boeye Irene, Esq.; and Adamidenyo, Otome Benjamin, Esq.

Meanwhile, Ojeikere, Bridget Onome, Esq., and Okah, Stella Ovuorieroro, Esq. were sworn in as Judges of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Oborevwori charged the new and serving Judges to uphold the rule of law and resist any temptation to compromise their professional judgment for personal gain. He emphasized that the integrity of the judiciary remains central to democracy and good governance.

The Governor urged the Judges to demonstrate the highest standards of probity, fairness, courage, and impartiality in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, noting that public confidence in the justice system depends largely on the conduct of judicial officers.

He congratulated the newly sworn-in Judges on their appointments and prayed for divine wisdom, good health, and strength as they begin a new chapter in their judicial careers.
The event was attended by top government officials, members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, and well-wishers from across the state.
